Stars and meditations

I have been experimenting with good night meditations. Experimenting with different places, characters, fairytales, or story’s that take children on a journey to relaxation, and help them calm down after a long day.

So far, I have been pulled toward working with stars. Stars have always fascinated me. One of my favourite childhood memories, was looking up at the stars. A specific memory was from a night during a class trek. We were allowed to stay up longer to star gaze. I remember us, on the mountain, in our sleeping bags, just looking up at the infinite little lights in the sky. Do you have memories like this? Memories of a specific time that you looked up at the nights sky and saw all these stars?

Moving out of the city has brought me back to looking up at the nights sky. Here all of the street lights get turned off at night so our little town turns completely black, and this my friends, gives us access to stars…

but back to business…

Stars.

Did you know that their is meaning behind each point of a star? For example with a five pointed star:

Each point represents an element: Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and Spirit. Each element also represents a direction:

Air: North

Earth: East

Fire: South

Water: West

Spirit: Center

The upright 5 pointed star represents harmony, and protection. Since the star represents all directions, it creates a circle around us, and that is one of the reasons why it represents protection.

I love learning little things like this. I guess we can find meaning in everything. But for me, that is ok. I think the stories are important. So when you see my brand icon, and you see the little star smiling, you know the story behind it. The story of a child being so fulfilled and happy sitting on a mountain in a sleeping bag, and looking up at the stars with her classmates. A story of symbolism, direction, elements, harmony and protection.

much love
