This newsletter is going to be all about shoes… so if you aren’t really into them, skip this one! For the rest of you, enjoy <3

Clarks Originals

I am falling in love with Clarks again. But I have to admit, I have never owned a pair of Clarks. Sadly, I don’t think they suit me, or better said, they don’t suit any pants that I own :-) But I still drool about them constantly (and they have been on my shoe wishlist for the past twenty years).

I also just learned about the relationship that Jamaicans have to Clarks, and this makes the brand so much cooler. Check out the video below.

Too bad Clarks stopped producing their shoes in England in 2005.

But on a side note: it is possible! The also iconic Solovair boots (where the original Dr Martens were made before Dr Martens moved production abroad) are still being produced in England! <3

OK, since I started writing about shoes, I can’t stop! What do you think about the Loewe slingback pumps? I don’t know if my style is changing, but ouf. These are so ugly that they are INSANELY cool (does that make sense?).

If I had the money, these would be mine in a jiffy.

Ok, maybe it is lame to be on Substack and talk about Instagram, but check out the profile:the daily scroll offline. I really enjoy it when people mix media; things that are supposed to be online go offline, and vice versa. So the idea of printing out things that you found online: Love it. Maybe it’s also because I am generation Mario Kart, and the visuals on this newsletter are nostalgic in the best possible way.

I think what tickles me most is the fact that physical things are becoming cool again. Magazines, books, posters, notebooks, newspapers. Even if this movement is only happening in my bubble, I am happy that the tides are slowly turning.

So being inspired by the daily scroll and using my brothers zine maker, I decided to print out 8 images that summarise my September. (Yes, I will post this on Instagram too, so apologies for being redundant!)

And to end the newsletter: here Leon Bridges killing it, in… wait for it… CLARKS 🙂
